IAAR Public Lecture given by Professor Keith Clark on the novelist Ann Petry

On April 6, 2016, Professor Keith Clark of George Mason University, delivered his lecture, Invisible Woman/Native Daughter: The Life and Fiction of Ann Petry. Dr. Clark, who received his Ph.D. in English from UNC-Chapel Hill (1993), returned to the Carolina campus to discuss his findings based on his published book, The Radical Fiction of Ann Petry. In his lecture, Dr. Clark (re)introduced Petry’s life and legacy, and delved into her pioneering approach to such topics as black masculinity, sexuality, and horror in her creation of a uniquely though understudied and undervalued literary oeuvre.
