New Book Alert! From Faculty Affiliate Kia Caldwell

IAAR Faculty Affiliate and Associate Professor of African, African American, and Diaspora Studies , Kia Lilly Caldwell, has a new book out.  Health Equity in Brazil: Intersections of Gender, Race, and Policy (University of Illinois Press 2017), draws upon twenty years of engagement with activists, issues, and policy initiatives to document how the country’s feminist health movement and black women’s movement have fought for much-needed changes in women’s health.  To discuss questions of health policy, race and gender that emerge in the book, Associate Professor of Anthropology Erica Williams, a Brazilianist and feminist scholar at Spelman College sat down with Caldwell to discuss the significance of this body of work.  To read more of Caldwell’s interview with Erica Wilson, please go to aaihs.org
